 A local man says he found a rock with an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, and has turned down an offer to sell it for tens of thousands of dollars. Meet Jaime Garcia, a man who says he was addicted to alcohol and smoking for the last 20 years.

“I lost my house and I started drinking more and more,” he said. “I almost lost my family, too.”

One day, Garcia stumbled on a stone while working at a construction site in Patterson, a find that he says changed his life.

Diego, an indigenous Mexican who lived in the 1500’s, is believed by many to have the Virgin Mary appear before him, leaving a now-famous image on his woven cloak.

Garcia says the minute he found the rock, he immediately quit drinking and smoking, and now the bond between his wife and kids is stronger than ever.

Wow!  The “rock” made him quit drinking and smoking!  I don’t believe in a “rock” I worship “THE ROCK” Jesus.  We shouldn’t be worshipping Mary anyway.

Workers at a marble company in Dallas say they have a slab of natural granite that has the image of Jesus in it. Verona Marble Company Inc. takes pictures of every slab of stone in their inventory and posts them on their website. Wednesday, the owners say a customer in West Texas spotted the image among dozens of pictures and called to tell them about it.

Those who look at the 6×10 foot slab say they can see the head and arms of Jesus, along with either a belt, sword or glowing book. The company has pulled the slab from its inventory and put it on display.

Well they do call Jesus the “Solid Rock!”  It looks like a Greyhound to me.  They pulled it from display–can you say E-bay.

A Florida mother says the birth of baby Sabastian was a gift from God. After suffering a recent miscarriage, Amy Janer was nerve-racked about her third pregnancy until she saw a 3D ultrasound at 32 weeks. Janer said the face of Jesus can be seen, with the beard leaning against the baby. For the expecting couple, it was more than comforting, it was assurance from above that they would have a smooth pregnancy.

Janer gave birth to a healthy baby boy on June 11. Janer said she and her husband are devout Catholics, but not fanatical. They wanted to share their story in hopes of strengthening the faith of others, she said.

A family is counting its blessings after being given a fish with scales spelling out the name of Allah in Arabic. The fish was a gift to 60-year-old Raja Rab Nawaz, of Blackburn, from a friend in Rochdale.

“It was a present from a good friend of mine,” said Mr Nawaz.

“Everyone who has seen it so far is convinced that you can see the word Allah in Arabic on the side.

“We have only had it a couple of days and the attention it is getting is remarkable.

“People seem to be coming from everywhere to take a peek.”

The discovery of the fish is getting as much if not more attention than that bought by a family in Nelson who had a fish with both Allah and Muhammed - in Arabic - on its side.

Some people say such incidents are simple coincidence whilst others see them as miracles.

A drug dealer named The Spider is wondering why his Jesus Christ still hasn’t appeared in Dallas. Thanks to an unusual bust by federal agents in Laredo, they’re not going to connect.

Drug traffickers mixed as much as six pounds of the illicit white powder into a paste and used it to make a regal statue of the Christian savior, complete with painted-on flowing hair and a gold cape. Smugglers were likely hoping the statue, which could be worth as much as $30,000 on the streets, would be dismissed by border guards as just another of the hundreds of plaster representations hawked to borderland tourists.

But a dog trained to sniff out drugs confirmed it was anything but another religious memento.

“This seizure shows what extreme measures people will go through to smuggle drugs,” Janice Ayala, second-in-command of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s investigative office in Laredo, said Wednesday.
