PRINCE’S DOOR-TO-DOOR PREACHING SHOCKS FANS

Posted at 4:00 am under cult, jehovah witnesses

[SF Chronicle & USA Today]

Religious rocker Prince is often chased through the streets by his fans, as he tries to convert them to the Bible. The singer, who became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001, goes house-to-house to preach about the faith. And fans are sometimes so stunned to find the rock legend on their doorstep that they don’t want to let him go.

He tells USA Today newspaper, “Sometimes fans freak out. It might be a shock to see me, but that’s no reason for people to act crazy, and it doesn’t give them license to chase me down the street.”

Prince is so devoted to his faith that he even takes the Bible to business meetings, to show executives he is serious about doing a deal.

[From me]

It is good that Prince (or the artist formerly known as Prince) has cleaned up his act.  But being good doesn’t get you to heaven because none of us ever is good enough.  The problem with the “Bible” that Prince carries is the translation.  The Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe in the Trinity.  Their translation is a horrible translation that distorts the truth.  The Jehovah’s Witnesses are a cult and I’m sorry to hear that Prince hasn’t found the real Jesus.  I pray he does soon.

What do you think?

    Kevin,

The Jehovah’s Witnesses are a cult

    How do you define “cult”?

A cult is a group that takes the Bible and distorts it. JW have their own translation of the Bible that is not accurate.

Nope. That’s not what a cult is. ;^)

I just wonder if he wears a raspberry beret when he goes out “witnessing” of his false doctrines?

I think it’s sad that Prince has hooked up with JW, but the fact that he has done so says to me that he’s searching for truth. He isn’t there yet, but making fun of him seems mean spirited and totally out of keeping with Christlike compassion.

He takes a Bible to Business Meetings?

Now what would happen if Southern Baptists did that!

There is a lot of ignorance about what JWs believe but they are the most Christian of all the religions I have met. They dont go to war and kill other christians like most so called religious people and they spend their free time to go talking to people about their religion and they aren’t paid fo rit like vicars and priests are.
Prince? I admire him for doing this.

I’m a Jehovah’s Witness and I think that people should try to look at themselves and see how they are forcing their beliefs on us Witnesses, forcing blood transfusions on us, forcing us to go to war, salute the flag, live an immoral life, deny our religion and so on and so forth.
You people are always propagating that our mission in hous2house service is to “CONVERT” people. That is entirly wrong, if that would be true then we would be named Jehovah’s converters. But we are Jehovah’s witnesses, and all what we are doing house2house is to bear witness to Jehovah.
If you like to listen, then listen, if you like to ask questions and get answers then ask questions and get answers, and if you don’t like to listen or ask questions THEN JUST SAY IT!!! and don’t go whining to others saying “Jehovah’s witnesses visited me!!!!” like you just experienced a huge psychologically horrible event!!!

“The wicked man flees though no one pursues, ” - Proverbs 28:1

We DON’t put our feet in peoples doorways, and we DON’T force our belives on others, those are just lies, imaginations and illusions by those who dislike us.

    Thank you
