Vandal leaves message of hate on soldier’s Jeep
![]()
An Army Reserves sergeant studying at Dallas Baptist University was surprised this week to find the message “soldiers are murderers” spray painted on his Jeep Wrangler.Viktow Whitlow, a junior, had parked his Jeep on the campus at about 2 a.m. Wednesday and returned hours later to find his vehicle’s tires had been flattened, the seats slashed and “soldiers are murderers” spray painted in red across the hood.
“It’s disheartening to be honest with you,” he said. “It’s shocking that somebody would write something like that. It just makes me speechless.”
Mr. Whitlow, who recently spent two tours in Balad, Iraq, said he has no idea who vandalized his Jeep or why he was targeted.
“I actually worked in a medical treatment facility and we actually saved lives instead of taking them,” he said.
Read about it here.

How terrible! Whether you agree with the war or not, the men and women from our military protect us and allow for protests in our nation. But if you disagree with the war don’t take it out on those serving. They deserve our respect and honor. Plus this man was saving lives! Whoever did this ought to be ashamed.
What do you think?

maybe they ought to catch the person who did this and put them on the first plane to Iraq and tell them to do the same thing there. Wonder what part of the body he will be without when it is all over. This is disgusting. And if it was one of the students I would say “arrividerci” to his religious career at that university.

Last summer my husband was wearing an Iraq war vet and a guy in a truck “courageously” yelled baby killer at Mike… he was speedily driving by us, btw. We were out walking with our parents and children around town just trying to have a good time of family fellowship. My husband said it hurt him worse to see the tears in his dads eyes because he knows it was the same treatment dad got coming back from Vietnam. Our country still has a lot of people who need to grow up and mind their manners.
God bless,
Sallie
Well, I guess that if you believe that God meant what he said when he said “Thou shalt not kill”, it would make sense to the graffiti artist to regard soldiers as paid killers.
I’m still waiting for those elusive weapons of mass destruction to be located. Seeing that the USA is borrowing billions every month from China to run this fiasco, they must think those pesky WMDs are worth all the trouble.
I am amazed at the things that can happen on the campuses of our universities these days. Vandalism is a terrible thing and those who vandalize clearly show utter disrespect other people or their property. The article says the repairs will cost around $7000. Some hateful person with a can of spray paint and a knife probably did more damage than they know. Sad, and senseless.

Francoise…the word God used in Exodus is the word “murder.” Soldiers who are protecting the country, are not murdering…they are at war. There is a vast difference in the two.
If you are looking for WMD, you have to go no further than Syria…truck load after truck load made its way across the border.
What is your source for the US borrowing billions of dollars a month from China. You can’t make a statement like that without being challenged.

Francoise, as much I don’t like the war in Iraq, for costing taxpayers billions of dollars, I dislike cowards even more. Whomever did this broke the law and should be punished. It’s permissible to voice your opinion or conduct a peaceful protest, but harming people–or their property–is wrong.
I remain truly amazed at how idiotic some people can be. But I suppose such ignorance can only be bred in an atmosphere of true freedom.
This is more than vandalism … I consider it treason. And that has a penalty.
Francoise - Yes, soldiers are trained to kill. I was trained to kill for my country. I can still take out a human silhouette at over 300m. I learned hand-to-hand combat techniques. I learned how to blow things up. And it is precisely because a minority of men are willing to shoulder such a burden that idiots like the one(s) who vandalized this brave soldier’s vehicle can have the leisure time to dream up and perpetrate their lunacy. And the truly amazing part is that the same people who would consider this brave soldier a “killer” would have absolutely no problem with sucking unborn babies from their mothers’ wombs and throwing them in the trash.
God have mercy.

Sallie: I feel for you and your dad and your husband. We treated Viet vets with cruelty. They have my respect.
Steve: agreed. Let’s hear it Francoise
Geoff: thanks for serving this country that people want to live in with freedom but are unwilling to defend it. I appreciate what you and others like you do/have done. Powerful last statement.
I will reserve any other comment as it may not come across very nicely.

Some of you are new here and don’t remember Francoise. She used to comment everyday and I wish she would come back as often as she used to.
Francoise is a nice lady from Australia who is an atheist. She is a former police officer. I wonder Francoise, did you ever use force with criminals? What the government in Iraq was doing to its own people was criminal. If it weren’t for men and women like Sallie’s relatives and Geoff, we wouldn’t have the freedoms we do here in the US.

Steve, (and Bill who agrees)
I would have thought that was common knowledge. Perhaps Fran thought so to? I guess whether knowledge is common or not depends on one’s sources for news. Here are just a few examples of how prevalent this information is:
http://www.brookings.edu/testimony/2007/0626budgetdeficit_rogoff.aspx reports:

Kevin,
I miss Fran’s comments too.
Fran,
Glad you’re still around!!
I agree - it was wrong. And most definitely I am NOT a supporter of the war. There are always fanatics. I think about the anti abortion folks that bomb the abortion clinics and kill the people that perform the abortions. One wrong never justifies another.
“Soldiers who are protecting the country, are not murdering…they are at war. There is a vast difference in the two.”
I totally disagree. The soldiers in Iraq are NOT protecting our country. It’s Bush’s oil war. Don’t tell me that some of you are still buying the line that this war is connected to 9/11.
Oil war? How can you think that, especially with gas shortages in places like NC? What do you mean oil war?
Matt Knight’s last blog post..Ron Paul is Right about Government Bailouts
An oil war? That is the MOST ridiculous critique available.
Honestly, if this nation was at war for oil, we would have invaded Canada or Mexico, both of whom we get more oil from than even Saudi Arabia.
And ya know what . . . I’ll go ahead and say this. If this nation ran out of oil, it would crumble. If you think the economy is bad now, wait until the day comes in which we have no oil to get goods to market, no oil to get people to work, no oil to fill the tanks and planes that defend this country. If we ever NEED to go to war for oil, I would support it wholeheartedly.
Man has fought over resources since the beginning of time and it won’t change anytime soon.
That being said, I do NOT agree with Steve. I don’t think the WMD are in Syria. I think they weren’t there. I don’t think it was a lie by the administration, but instead a misinterpretation of intelligence, or incorrect intelligence. As someone who use to work in national security, I can assure you that intelligence analyzing rarely produces certainties.

And might I also note that even if we had invaded Iraq to take their oil, it wouldn’t have mattered. The simple economic principle of supply and demand would have kicked in and OPEC would have reduced production so that the supply of oil would remain roughly the same.

You seem to imply there is something wrong if a babykilling abortion mill is burned or bomb. Which do you prefer, a pile of bricks or a pile of dead babies? Innocent unborn babies deserve to be protected just as born children deserve to be protected. You would have no problem protecting born children if they were about to be murdered.
SAY THIS PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I am a sinner and am headed to eternal hell because of my sins. I believe you died on the cross to take away my sins and to take me to heaven. Jesus, I ask you now to come into my heart and take away my sins and give me eternal life.
Rev,
Wow! I just made the mistake of clicking on your blog.
A little extreme are we?
I can’t really imagine Jesus bombing an abortion clinic to protect the unborn. Don’t get me wrong, I am against abortion, but it is people like you that give the rest of us a bad name. Supporting bombing clinics or standing on a street corner with posters of aborted fetuses only makes us look extreme, radical, dangerous, and frankly wacko.
I have no problem being a radical Christian, but when you start supporting attacks on people in the name of God, you do God a disservice. Perhaps the others on this site, almost all of whom have more Biblical training than me, will disagree, but your position is more harmful than helpful.
Where did that whole idea of love they neighbor come from? Oh yeah, the Bible.

Rev Spitz,
Ok, I just said it. Now what?
I agree with you Michael. I too made the mistake of clicking on Spitz’ website. Disgusting would be a good word. Disrespectful would be another. Un-Christ-like would be another. I also agree with Michael that “you, Mr. Spitz give Christ-followers a bad name.” Sort of like the Phelps’ display at funerals, etc. I too, am against abortion but that type of display does absolutely nothing. Paul Hill and American hero? Get real! Hatred, violence and revenge are never spoken of in the NT as the way of Jesus.

Why does the revival tarry? It is because God’s
people tarry to obey the powerful command of
the Lord in Rev. 18:4. This is the most powerful
revival message of the Lord to his people in our time.

As in the days of Lot, it is now. Lot was not interested
to leave Sodom. God sent two angels to rescue him,
and they must persuade him to leave Sodom. When
he yet lingered, one of the angels said to him:
“Flee for your life sake …”
Just like as Lot, God’s people are not interested to
leave the great Babylon, but finally they must flee
for their life from there.

God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge
because their preachers have rejected knowledge.
Hosea 4:6-11. Instead to preaching the truth of the
Assembly of God, they have preached lies about the
Assembly of God. The Pentecostalists have abused
the expression “Assembly of God” and used it as a
name of their church.
