CD review–Hello Love

Posted at 1:43 pm under CD review

I was asked by my friends at Wired for Sound to review Chris Tomlin’s new CD, Hello Love.  Those of you who know me well, know that Chris Tomlin is one of my favorites.  I have all of his CD’s so this was a no brainer to review.

I must say I wasn’t the biggest fan of his previous CD.  It was good but not one I listen to all of the time like his others.  But Hello Love did not disappoint.  Sing, Sing, Sing leads off the CD with a catchy tune.  And it only gets better from there.  The music is inspiring and the words are worshipful.  Some of my other favorites on the CD are Jesus Messiah and All the Way My Savior Leads me.  But my favorite is God of this City.  I just think that song speaks to me because I have a passion for our large cities.  There are millions of people who need to have a relationship with Jesus but have not done so yet.  When some people see lots of traffic on the roads and get angry, I see more people who need Him.

This will be a CD that I listen to over and over.  I highly recommend Hello Love and give it 4.8 out of 5 hockey sticks.  If you want to listen to parts of the CD check out the player below.

Kevin, it’s so funny how we can hear the same song and be affected for such different reasons. I love God of this City because of the line “He’s Lord of this nation.” I do work on the Tohono O’Odham Reservation and am praying about moving there full-time next spring and that line brings me to tears each time. We are seeing great things beginning to happen among the TO nation and that song touches me so deeply about God being Lord of it all. He is Lord of that nation and I pray and dream about what He can do with the TO people among other Indian nations. I know that wasn’t what Tomlin meant when he wrote the song but I feel it strongly nonetheless.

Same song, same ultimate thought process just different perspectives.

Tomlin is incredible….just like Ambassador, LeCrae and the artists at CMR, Tomlin is one of the best at laying down scripture during his live concert.

Third Day, still one of the best, is doing a church tour this fall, tickets are going fast though…get them while you can.
