Police Deliver Baby Jesus At Gas Station

[NBC11]
A pair of Modesto police officers who stopped to help a motorist Tuesday morning ended up helping the man’s wife give birth to a baby named Jesus. The officers said Jose Resendes flagged them down at about 11 a.m. He was frantically waving next to his car in the middle of McHenry Avenue and Orangeburg Avenue.Officers said as they stopped to investigate, they discovered a female in the front seat who was in labor.
Officers Steve Anderson and Ben Kroutil were driving their marked black and white patrol cars southbound on McHenry when they saw Resendes.
“You could tell he was serious. There was no joking around, and I knew he wasn’t kidding,” Anderson said.
The officers then directed Mr. Resendes into the nearby Chevron gas station lot.
It quickly became clear that Jose Resendes’ wife, Brenda Resendes, was in labor and that the baby had already partially delivered, officers said. According to the police report, without hesitation, both officers assisted with the successful delivery of a baby boy as the Brenda Resendes remained seated in the car.

How nice to read a good story about police for a change. Wonder if they named the baby Stephen Benjamin. Would have been fitting.
