[From me]

Now is it a coincidence that four stores are closing in Mobile, AL after I moved from there?  I don’t think so.

What do you think?

Kevin…what is really, really, really sad is how you are taking up valuable Internet space (remember, we are running out!) with such “stuff” as this…

They can’t close enough Starbucks for my tastes!

Interestingly enough, your list doesn’t coincide with the local (St. Louis) news who pinpointed 14 closures in the greater St. Louis area.

    Steve,

I will pray for you. :)

    Benji,

    I wasn’t going to post all 600!

    Kevin,

You know what’s weird? I never liked coffee until moving to G-town. We spent so much time in Starbucks that we started having the employees give us names when ordering. (No, seriously.) But, notice I said “spent”…

Fortunately for me…. Brother G makes an even meaner cup of coffee much cheaper! And I don’t get in trouble for flirting with the barista. In fact, it’s encouraged.

Hmmmm why is it that I don’t care? Oh yeah, I don’t drink coffee! Sorry K. The only reason I hate to see them close are the lost jobs. Let’s see…$4 a pop at 7/week=$28 x 52= (help I need a calculator!) All for glorified sugar.

1st I don’t buy the $4 drinks. 2nd I rarely go anymore because of $$. 3rd when I do go I often get free brews or have points on my Starbucks Duetto Visa. :)

When I went in Moblie I led several people to Christ & when I left the bartistas gave me a going away party w/ @ least $100 in free coffee & goods. My former intern Neil works @ one in Mobile & I hope he still has a job.

Four stores are closing in the Birmingham area…let’s see, four down, 342 more to go!

A mere drop in the bucket…or is that a drop in the cup…or is that good to the last drop? No, wrong brand…

Notice that none in the city of Chicago (proper) were closed.

We kept the two in my immediate vicinity on 280 in Bham so I’m happy. Seriously, Starbucks over-built but I’m getting tired of hearing about the $4.00 cup of coffee. The cup of coffee isn’t $4.00, the specialty drinks are. If people don’t like Starbucks because they “take over”, that’s fine but at least give an accurate picture.

I do like some of what Starbucks as a company stands for. They provide health insurance for all employees (full and part-time). They do have their problems but I don’t see them as the evil force other people seem to.

    Well said Angie,

I had dinner with John Herring on Sunday.

Angie…please don’t help Kevin out on the defense of Starbucks…he really doesn’t need any help!

So, Kevin, eating with John Herring and admitting to it?

    Steve,

Yes I admit it. He used to be one of Angie’s pastors. :)

Kevin, In hospital, with a MOST unglamorous complaint.I’m very bitter about it. The world’s most devastatingly handsome doctor attended me, and I had to look my very worst!!!

But please tell me before I go mad with curiosity- is the Starslop mermaid bi-tailed, or is her tail bifurcated? I’m a mermaid aficionado, BTW.
