I’m an idiot

Jul-13-2008 By Kevin Bussey

I have to be the klutziest person in the world.  I’ve broken so many bones and I’m constantly tripping and falling down.  Saturday I slipped and fell down the stairs and broke my toe so badly they are sending me to an orthopedic.

When it rains it pours.  I had the the privilege of teaching at church today. We are doing a series called “Going to the Beach.”  Every messages is from a passage near water.  Today I spoke on “Simple Faith”–it was the story of Naaman in 2 Kings 5.  I don’t know why God makes me learn so many lessons every time I get to speak.  I’m ready to teach a message on being rich or one on love because they won’t be so painful for me leading up to the message.

I was able to make it through the service without too much pain and set up to see a Foot Doctor who attends our church.

Oh I hope you get relief soon from that. I know how bad that can hurt.

God bless and I enjoy your blog.

  2. Angie Said,

Kevin, I feel for you. I broke my ankle three weeks ago today. July in the south is not a time to be in a cast. :-) But, I think it might have been the Lord’s way of slowing me down and forcing me to rest. He’s also teaching me about humility and letting other people take care of my needs when I can’t. For an independent control freak like me, that’s a hard lesson to learn. :-)

Kevin…will you still be able to pedal your moped to work each day?

  4. Perry Said,

Dude: Did the same thing about 3 months ago. I’m just now able to wear normal shoes again, and spent most of that time taking my shoes off and rubbing my foot. Hope the doctor can do more for you than mine did for me.

    Perry,

we do look like each other I didn’t realize we had the same klutziness.

    Steve,

    I don’t have pedals. :)

    Angie and Denise,

    Thanks

  6. M. Steve Heartsill Said,

Kevin, a broken toe is nothing to laugh about or not to take seriously! I’ve had two in my life. They are painful (as if I have to tell you that) and they just seem to cause constant aggrevation! And, there seems to be so little relief for it.

Hope you find some answers…and quickly!

And I’m still waiting for that book you said you would send me about 6 weeks ago, Mr Bussey…

    What’s up with that?

    Kevin:
You are not an idiot. Get well soon!

I could give some crazy, unmerciful, inane suggestion like… oh, get over it and go see Benny Hinn, since you put his pic on your website regarding a previous article/comment. That man gives me the “willies” BIG TIME!!

Seriously, hope you get better. As one who has had multiple orthopaedic problems himself, I empathize.

  10. Kevin Bussey Said,

    Thanks for the well wishes.

Last night my doctor put a large needle in my toe that hurt worse than the break. He numbed it then jerked it into place. The break wasn’t as bad as they thought at first. Praise God!
