Economic Stimulus Plan Boosts Porn Industry

An unforeseen and surprising beneficiary of the Economic Stimulus Plan, a plan thatGeorge Bush contends will “boost our economy and encourage job creation,” has surfaced this week. An independent market-research firm, AIMRCo (Adult Internet Market Research Company), has discovered that many websites focused on adult or erotic material have experienced an upswing in sales in the recent weeks since checks have appeared in millions of Americans’ mailboxes across the country.
According to Kirk Mishkin, Head Research Consultant for AIMRCo, “Many of the sites we surveyed have reported 20-30% growth in membership rates since mid-May when the checks were first sent out, and typically the summer is a slow period for this market.”

I can’t tell you how needed the stimulus check was for our family. It came at just the right time when we needed almost the exact amount. I’m sure some people wasted theirs away. We didn’t. I guess people with a “porn” addiction find any excuse to fuel their sickness. Is it any wonder why we have so many sexual abuse cases and failed marriages?

Ours also came at just the right time. It paid off a water softener and the rest was put away from my niece’s wedding out of town this weekend that I am officiating. My wife wishes I wasn’t so practical but I see it as a definite answer from God. I can guarantee it wasn’t used to fuel the porn industry. (It didn’t even fuel my cycling obsession. Now that is a bummer!)

Our check came at the right time too…and I’m too much like Bill, I suppose. It was stored away for a rainy day we have coming shortly. It will eventually be spent on this “emergency” need that we have, not on short-term spending.
As far as the porn spending, what a shame! When gas prices are like they are, food prices are rising, and everything is just more expensive, what a shame that some men and women choose to spend these check on such selfish, sinful devices.

I agree with Steve. That is spending on selfish means to the “nth degree.” The porn industry is based on our “magnificent obsession” (ourselves) and gratifying that. Sort of like lottery tickets (but we won’t go there!)

The way things are going, and that this government even *considered* issuing “stimulus” checks, is evidence enough that this might turn out to have been a sound investment.
