Mrs. Osipov,

When I was in collegein Birmingham, I had to have surgery. The surgery was scheduled for 7:00 AM. My parents drove up the night before and stayed in a nearby hotel. I had warned my dad to leave early and to get to the hospital no later than 6:45. Well, they barely made it in time before I was being wheeled out. My dad said, “Son, there was so much traffic on the highway. Where do all of those people go that early in the morning?”

Driving to, around, and through Atlanta often, I always ask myself that same question, whether it is 6:00 AM, noon, 6:00 PM, or midnight. My dad would freak out over Atlanta if he thought Birmingham was bad!

I don’t know that there’s enough money in the world to pay me to live in Atlanta. When we drive from Athens, AL, to Charlotte, NC, we too drive thru Atlanta. We try to time it when it’s the middle of the night.

Yes I used to live in Huntsville and loved to eat at Greenbriar and Thomas pit BBQ. They both served white BBQ sauce.

You should have stopped at the welcome center in Alabama too. During National Tourism week they had some good free stuff as well. It was a really busy one when I crossed from MS.
Funny how everyone that I know who has seen that peach in person has been mooned…hummmm! I bet Jacob loved to giggle about that with you.
