Praise Band–the movie

For many years, Sunday mornings were known as the most divided hour in America due to race. Today, it’s still divided, but often by music and worship styles as congregations seek to reach an audience whose tastes for music and tech savvy presentations create new challenges for today’s church leaders.
Praise Band: The Movie, produced and directed by Grammy nominee and Dove Award winner Dave Moody, seeks to present a balanced perspective of the struggle while emphasizing the true meaning of worship. The movie is set for national release to churches and other Christian groups through public view licenses obtainable from Elevating Entertainment by calling 704.282.9910 or visiting www.PraiseBandMovie.com.

Can anyone relate?

Sure can. We had three worship services - one tradional, one contemporary and one blended. Shortly before our interim Pastor J. arrived, we realized we were not being good stewards by doing this and that it was creating more division than unity and real worship. OUCH! We did away with the different “styles” and started having just “Worship”….. we also went down to to two instead of three. Amazing the difference this steps have made. Still have some grumblings about the styles but not as much as we did.
One way it also helped was all the different age groups started getting to know one another again or perhaps even for the first time. We average 800 plus on Sunday mornings. We have ages 93 to newborns.
Life’s moments are meant for worship. While a physical church building can be a place where that takes place…. it should not be the only place.
