Mess with homeschoolers and I’ll crush you!

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today blasted a court ruling that endangered homeschooling and homeschoolers statewide.
“Every California child deserves a quality education and parents should have the right to decide what’s best for their children,” the governor said in a prepared statement. “Parents should not be penalized for acting in the best interests of their children’s education.”
“This outrageous ruling must be overturned by the courts and if the courts don’t protect parents’ rights then,as elected officials, we will,” he said.

Even the Terminator gets it. My words to the California Courts–”We’ll be back!”

What do you think?

The Terminator talks tuff and I am glad, but the problem is the teachers association in Cali is very strong and they hate homeschooling. They have a lot of power and I am afraid this is going to be a rough battle for the governator.
True but don’t underestimate the power of homeschoolers as well. MI was in the same boat. Michigan had the same law that California just instated. We were one of the very toughest states to homeschool but overnight the laws were changed. Michigan became one of the easiest states to homeschool in by one verdict from the Supreme Court in 1993.
A portion from the HSLDA regarding the Michigan ruling in 1993:

There is always the chance that this could go bad for homeschoolers in CA but then again, when all is said and done, this turn could turn for good instead.
I am a former “homeschool dad” but fighting against the “system” added so much personal stress to our family life… We spent nearly as much time defending our right to homeschool our kids, as we did homeschooling….and we lived in Tennessee with a VERY strong homeschool association shielding us somewhat from the meanies at our local schoolboard. When we moved to Arkansas we opted for public education because the homeschool associations here weren’t as well organized.
My prayers go out for the homeschool families in California.
