will they know we are Christians by our love?

[Breitbart]

Following the Christmas celebrations, Greek Orthodox priests set up ladders to clean the walls and ceilings of their part of the church, which is built over the site where Jesus Christ is believed to have been born. Seven people were injured on Thursday when Greek Orthodox and Armenian priests came to blows in a dispute over how to clean the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. But the ladders encroached on space controlled by Armenian priests, according to photographers who said angry words ensued and blows quickly followed.

Read about it here.

[From me]

Nothing like celebrating the birth of the Savior by a fight. I didn’t know business meetings were scheduled for Christmas.

What do you think?

Not to put a different spin on this or anything, well okay, to put a different spin on it…

This has been going on for nearly a thousand years…

Since early times the temple in Bethlehem has been “guarded” by three sects of Christianity that are intensely at odds…

They have specific rules, and times for things from cleaning to temple worship in the sanctuary, and the rules have been agreed upon for many hundred years…by all 3 sects…

What is amazing to me is that three different sects that have seriously divided doctrinal stances have occupied the same territory for nearly a thousand years, and have had fistfights as seldom as they have…

I had to stay with my brother for less than four days, and I love him, and am grateful for letting us stay, but we seriously got on each other’s nerves, and we don’t even have serious doctrinal divides..

I think the greater story here is how they manage to occupy the same space without fistfighting every day!
