Don’t forget our military…

My parents work for Campus Crusade’s Military Ministry. They teach a Basic Training Bible Study Class every Sunday Morning at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC. They personally have led hundreds of soldiers to Christ every year. They lead Bible Studies during the week for officers and their wives. They also teach marriage and parenting seminars at military bases all over the world.
One of the needs that the military has is the shortage of Bibles. The Military Ministry offers Rapid Deployment Kits to soldiers for free but they need more. Campus Crusade for Christ’s Military Ministry continues to receive requests for 15,000-20,000 RDKs each month. It takes just $3.25 to get an RDK into the hands of a service member.
Read about it here.
My parents ministry is here:

Almighty God, we commend to Your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad as we pray also for their families. Defend them day by day with Your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of Your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thanks for this post! Such an incredible ministry! Your parents and our soldiers will be in my prayers!
Hi Kev,
I was surprised to see Fort Jackson listed on the site today. Neat!
Just last Sunday, over twenty soldiers made commitments to Christ. The previous weekend at a Brigade, couples retreat at Myrtle Beach, 16 soldiers and mates made commitments, a large number of those were Drill Sergeants.
This Sunday we show the “JESUS” movie to over 300 recruit soldiers.

Being a former USAF man myself, I know how important these ministries are to our military personnel. God bless the Busseys for their commitment to ministering among the military. It takes SPECIAL people to fill such a calling. I’m sure that Kevin’s mom and dad are just such special people.
This is awesome, Kevin! I do have a special place in my heart for Fort Jackson.
Phil,
Thanks for serving our nation.
MIT,
Thanks for the prayer.
Skyler,
Thanks for stopping by.
Quinn,
Were you in the military?
Dad,
You and mom rock!
Kevin- let’s hope you don’t receive a visit from WBC for this confession!
Kevin,
I attended The Citadel and many of my classmates have served in the military. I still have some that are in Iraq. So the military has a special place in my heart and prayers.
Also, I had an uncle who was retired military and when I was a boy, he would take me on Ft. Jackson.
This so touched my heart. I truly believe that one of the purposes for us being in Iraq is to bring the gospel there. Starting with our military is the first step…just awesome!
Praise the Lord for the men and women coming to faith in our military and praise Him for your parents…
In Him, Joanne
Looks like there may be a god, after all. WBC has been successfully sued for $10.9 million for causing extra grief at a soldier’s funeral.
