New Orleans Mission Trip day 3

Posted at 5:46 pm under missions

Today has been a much more productive day.  No rain!  We unloaded sheet rock and  put up gas pipes ripped up old sheet rock and pulled out nails.  We are tired and are going to look at the 9th Ward again for those who haven’t seen the devastation there.

Last night we ate Voodoo rolls at New Orleans Food and Spirits and they were good.  Afterwards Ryan and I stopped at Starbucks and guess what?  We got free drinks.  I’ve told everyone that they need to hang out with me and I will show you the ropes!  :)
Then we programed in the GPS for a Dairy Queen.  I have no idea where we went but it was by the New Orleans Zephyrs stadium.  It seemed like we passed 6 Wendys and McDonalds.  When we got there they were closed.

Below are two pictures of what the people here live in.  Next time you want to complain about the look of your church’s lawn or it’s too hot or two cold or whatever else you like to complain about look at what the members of Edgewater  have in front of their church everyday.  They don’t complain.  They are just happy to be able to serve the people of Gentilly.  It really is like a third world country.
