Scary stuff

Posted at 10:28 pm under police, scary, theft, wife

Tonight I was at a wedding rehearsal so I didn’t have my Treo on me.  My beautiful wife Cassandra was suppose to meet me @ 7:00PM for the rehearsal dinner.  I was told by my son that Cass was trying to get me on the phone so I went to my office to grab my Treo.  When I called Cass told me that she had just been attacked at the Wal-Mart by our home.   She went in to get a few things and was walking around the back of the Chrysler Town & Country when a man grabbed her leg and told her to give him the keys!

Cassandra is a very observant person and had just seen a police officer pull in the parking lot and was maybe 6 cars away.  So she kicked the perpetrator in the face and yelled for help.  Charlotte’s finest was there immediately and put Cass in his car and chased the thief down and caught him.  Wow!

This is the 2nd time this has happened to Cass.  In 1992 we were living in Ft. Worth, TX while I was in seminary.  Cass was coming home to our apartment on the East side of Ft. Worth by I-30 & I-820.  I normally wasn’t home on Monday nights because of a class but this night I was home sooner than normal.  Cassandra pulled into our gated apartment community and 2 gang members were waiting for her and attacked her and drove off in our car.

I just praise God that he protected Cassandra back then and tonight.  I also thank God for our police officers who don’t get enough praise for protecting our community.

Stark call back to the reality of things and how blessed you are. And Cass, too.

    Blessings, brother.

I am so happy she is safe!!

Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to Your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, remembering that among all the changes and chances of this mortal life, they may ever be defended by Your gracious and ready help; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I will also pray for her attacker, but do so privately.

Go, Cass! And please, when you’ve calmed down, resist the temptation to feel guilty for hoofing him one. He deserved what he got. I like feisty ladies!

And thanks for the gratitude, Kevin. We ex-coppers and serving coppers know how much the public’s appreciation means to us.

    Kevin -

I am so glad that Cass is safe. I am glad she was able to keep her wits about her and deal with the situation well.

Thank the Lord. I am so glad that your beloved is okay. But honestly, if she is as beautiful as you say she is, can you blame the guy? I’d hide under a car to grab my wife by the ankle :>) She’s worth it.

I’m glad she is quick to kick, and that the police were there to make the arrest. What a great ending to a scary story. I’m glad all is well.

I rejoice with you all that Cass is okay and that the perpetrator was captured. That had to be a scary situation, but it sounds like she responded quickly and assertively.

    Kevin,

Like everyone else, I am grateful for Cass’ safety.

I am amazed at God’s providence, sending a police officer to her side in her moment of need.

    That’s good stuff.

I’m glad she is safe. Psalm 91. Another awesome story to add to yesterday’s list. And I also ask God to watch over her emotions and heal up any trauma from this.

Great for her and to have had to deal with it twice! Glad she was so observant and knew it was right to kick him.

Thank you LORD, for giving Cass the strength and foresight to fight this guy off! Give her restful sleep at night and peace during the days as she deals with the trauma of this event.
Also, calm Kevin, as I am sure he would like to show the guy a thing or two!
    Praise You, Jesus! :)

Okay, please send me an e-mail and let me know what area of Charlotte this was in. My daughter lives there. She lives around the Stallings/Indian Trail area, but has a Monroe address. She works at the airport. I worry about her. Thanks
