Win a Car by Attending Local Church

[From abc7]
First-time guests who attend service at Revolution Church in the month of April will have a chance to win a 2005 Scion xB.
Read about it here.
[From me]
I don’t know what I’d rather have–the car of the Nintendo Wii.
What do you think could be given away?

I think I would rather have the Wii also. Here I am thinking of a worship service rather than the lottery. I know of one local pastor who recreated “Fear Factor” during his celebration and had people eating pigs feet as one of the challenges. I am just wondering why we are so involved with entertainment of people rather than edification of Jesus.
I’d rather have the Wii also, but this really bothers me. We’ve given away bikes to kids for bringing the most guests during VBS, but this sounds different…. or maybe I just need to borrow your hockey stick.
A local church here gave away a home for New Years a couple of years ago. The only requirement was the person had to be there all night. I know of two families in my complex that went. One family won a DVD player and the other received a $25 Grocery Store gift card. The family that got the DVD player now attends that church whenever they can get a ride to it.
Or how about this one. Attend church and you may win the free gift of salvation! Oh wait that never works. I’d either say go for an integrity give away or the car.
What could we give away?
The FREE gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Everything but The Gospel will pass away.
In Christ eternally,
ExP(Jack)
Jesus Christ, when will the so called “church” get a clue?!?! Come to church, win a frigging car?!?! You’ve got to be kidding me. This is a joke right? You’re not actually advocating this by posting it and then having a dilemma about the Wii? (though, i think i’m picking up on your sarcasm…) It’s as sad as “Vote for Bush… He’s a Christian !!!” I wish I could put my finger on why one of the most beautiful and comprehensive denominations, and to a broader scope, religions is being lost to the idiocy of politically typecast “conservatives” and blatant “big box religion” strategem such as this.
