Pagan inmates are given a day off from work for Halloween
Hundreds of Pagans serving prison sentences in the United Kingdom are to be given the day off work for Halloween out of respect for their religious beliefs.
Prison Service bosses have instructed staff to grant the convicts, who include Devil worshippers and Satanists, special privileges on Tuesday.
While fellow prisoners sew mail bags and undertake other jail work, the Pagans will be allowed to celebrate their ‘holiday’. Read about it here.

I think it’s fair . Other inmates get a day off on 25 Dec, and eat festive dinner. Muslim prisoners get to eat halal foods, and to celebrate their religious holy days- why should Pagans be excluded from the occasional religious privileges?
Its worth noting that Satanism has absolutely nothing to do with devil worship, and Halloween is not “holy” to them. Satanism is actually a hedonistic branch of secular humanism. They don’t believe in Satan, and they don’t believe in worship. Just thought that the lead-in was rather misleading.
Many of those who were displeased about the school forbidding a Jesus costume for Halloween will probably also be displeased to hear that I was Jesus for Halloween last year. Zombie Jesus, to be exact. (Futurama reference. I even wrote and performed a song to go with the costume, it was fun.)
I should really be working, rather than commenting on blog posts that have been stale for four months…
