Chuck Norris ‘mania’ sweeping the Net

Posted at 11:17 am under evangelism, faith, tv

There are more than 50,000 jokes making their way around the Internet that purport to be “facts” all playing off Chuck Norris’ movie roles as a “tough guy” and his history as a martial arts champion. But they aren’t “jokes” to those who spread them – they’re “facts.”

These “facts” have become a phenomenon – a fad spread mainly by young people of high school and college age. It’s hard to explain why these things happen – how they take on a life of their own.  Read about them here.

I’ll admit I watched Walker Texas Ranger.  We liked seeing all of the places we had been in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  The acting was not the best but I loved how Walker changed in the last few seasons.  It was evident that Chuck Norris had become a believer in Jesus-not just a believer but a follower.  This article is more evidence.  Thank God for the change in Chuck’s life.  May we all have this kind of humility and passion for Christ.

I can admit that I’ve watched Walker, Texas Ranger too.
I also used to own a Debbie Gibson tape also.
All kidding aside, it’s awesome to see someone famous like Chuck Norris that appears to be properly discipled speak out about Christ in a bold, yet humble manner.

Hey I watched Chuck as well. When I was in the Dallas area in Seminary I worked at a hotel and we had several of the crew would stay with us during shooting of the show.
I will also admit to owning a Debbie Gibson tape as well as a Tiffany tape.

I have known about Chuck’s walk for sometime. He is a member of Prestonwood in Dallas.

I used to love Debbie Gibdson. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! :-)
The Chuck Norris jokes rock. I have laughed until I’ve cried over some of them. I think my favorite would be:

“Chuck Norris invented black. In fact, he invented the entire spectrum of visible light. Except pink. Tom Cruise invented pink.”
